Obtaining a license for Sense
There are two additional steps required before you can use the Sense Recorder. You need to obtain a valid license and have a full installation of Sense Recorder. For details, please get in touch with your provider/ supplier in your area.
This article contains instructions and guidelines on obtaining a license on the following methods:
- Automatic licensing
- Manual licensing
1. Submit the following relevant parameters to your provider/ supplier's representative:
- Required number of calls that should be recorded simultaneously (ISDN/VoIP/Analogue)
- Required number of G.729 Codecs if you will be recording VoIP calls with G.729. Typically 2 licenses are enough for 30 lines.
- Required number of Thick Clients (open at the same time)
- Other required features
2. You will get an Activation Code.
3. When Sense installation finishes, it shows the Options Copy the activation code in the Options ► License/Updates tab.
4. Click the “Activate License” button. During loading of the license you can monitor the progress in the License Progress dialog box.
Once done, click OK.
Note: After installation, if you've closed the Sense Options menu, you will not be able to open it again. In this case, you can reopen it by accessing and clicking License.exe, which is located in the same location as Sense Options (ex. C:\Program Files (x86)\Retell\Sense Calls\Bin).
5. If in future, you need to update the license, you need to contact your provider/ supplier, and the license will be automatically updated.
Important Notice: If you are using automatic licensing, your system should remain online for license verification at least once a month. Otherwise, the system will stop recording calls due to failed license verification.
You can also install Sense without Internet connectivity by loading the license manually or offline. Below are the following guidelines:
1. The first step is the same as step one in Automatic
2. In addition, you need to identify your Machine ID. Your provider/ supplier will provide you with application “MachineKey_Generator.exe”, which will determine your Machine ID, which you need to send to your provider after. This application can be found on the root of the CD.
3. Your provider/ supplier will provide you with a license.
4. After receiving the license file, copy it to the installation path as designated in the E.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Retell\Sense\bin\lic"
5. If in future, you need to update the license, you need to contact your provider/ supplier, and our sales and support team will provide you with a new license.
