How to Install SENSE
Description
Sense is the generic name for the Retell Call Recording Interface.
The Sense interface records all calls automatically via a passive or active connection to ISDN30 E1 Primary rate, ISDN2 Basic rate, and Analogue or IP telephony depending on the type of interface purchased. Different types of Sense interfaces may be used in the same PC.
This article covers guidelines and instructions for the full installation of the software.
The installation process may take up to 25 minutes.
Prerequisites
- You must first obtain a valid license from your supplier before beginning the installation.
- Please ensure that Sense interfaces are connected and powered up before installing the software. Failure to do this may cause a recording interface error at the end of the installation sequence.
Sense Installation Process
1. The CD should auto run but if not, click on the CallRecorder.exe icon to launch the wizard.
2. Installation Language: The installation is supported on: Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Russian and Spanish.
To start, click Next.
3. Installation Requirement: These are requirements to ensure optimal working performance of the Sense Recording System. The optimal performance uses two separate physical disks (500GB each).
Check/ Tick the Box below to confirm and click Next.
4. Type of Installation: This article/ process guide covers the installation of Install Server and Client.
In your case, click the appropriate radio button to confirm, and click Next to proceed.
5. Sense Pre-requisites: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime, Microsoft .Net framework, Microsoft Windows Installer and Microsoft SQL. If some of these pre-requisites are missing, the Installation program will install them for you.
Click Next to proceed.
6. Win Pcap: This is a VoIP component and will be installed as a default to the Sense Recording System.
Click Next to proceed.
7. Depending on the type of network type in your organization, please select Workgroup or domain.
For the purpose of this guide, Workgroup has been selected. Click Next to proceed.
8. Read the license agreement before continuing with the Sense Recorder installation.
You must Accept the license agreement for the installation to continue. Once you have ticked/ checked the Box, click Next to proceed.
9. Software Server Installation folder: Select where Sense Server will be installed. The default C:\Program Files\Retell\Sense
Click Next to proceed.
10. Data folder selection: Select where data for the operation of the Call Recorder will be stored. It is recommended to set a separate partition for the data of at least 100 GB.
The default folder is C:\ProgramData\CallRecorder\Data
Once selected, click Next to proceed.
11. Audio folder selection: Audio folder requires a large available space for storing audio recordings. By default, it is within the data folder. However, we recommend a separate partition for the audio folder of at least 500 GB.
You can change this folder later from Options > Special tab, if required.
Once selected, click Next to proceed.
12. Temporary folder selection: Temporary folder contains audio calls that are in progress, and audio files that are not yet compressed and encrypted. The recommended available space is 60-120 GB partition on local disk. For 3,000 calls/day or more, use separate physical disk.
Once sorted, click Next to proceed.
13. Backup folder selection: The backup folder contains all archives made by the Sense Recorder, for both scheduled and on demand back up. This must be a separate disk than where the audio files are stored.
Once sorted, click Next to proceed.
14. SQL Server folder: Select where SQL Server will be installed.
NOTE: This step will not be displayed if SQL server is already installed.
Once selected, click Next to proceed.
15. Sense Client Installation Folder: Select where Sense Client will be installed. The default location is recommended.
Once selected, click Next to proceed.
16. At the end of the installation process, the Options tab appears. If you are new to Sense, select OK - you can get back to Sense Options at a later stage.
17. The system will require the Sense Recording Service to be restarted. Once completed, you may launch Sense.
Click Yes to confirm and complete the installation.
