How to Run CyDesk as an Edge/Chrome ‘App’

Why Setup CyDesk Client as an App

For optimal performance of the CyDesk client when running in Chrome or MS Edge browsers, it's recommended to run the CyDesk client as an 'App'. Both browsers offer an 'App' option, which Cytrack mandates as the optimal setup for using the CyDesk client.

Follow the instructions below to set up the app.

Microsoft Edge CyDesk App Setup

1. Open the CyDesk URL in MS Edge.

2. Click on the Settings menu on the top right hand corner.

3. Scroll to Apps and click on ‘Install this site as an app’

4. Give the app a name and click on install.

5. Based on user preference allow the app to setup shortcuts and auto-start.

6. Click on Allow to complete the setup.

Chrome CyDesk App Setup

1. Open the CyDesk URL in Google Chrome.

2. Click on the Settings menu on the top right hand corner.

3. Scroll to More Tools and click on ‘Create Shortcut’

4. Give the app a name, check Open as a window and click on create.

5. A shortcut will be added to the desktop for the same.
